WHAT WE LEARNED AT IDEAS FEST by Sadé LlerrafI’m so proud (and still a little in shock!) that I was selected as a finalist for the Great British Entrepreneur Awards this year a moment that truly validated all the hard work, risks, and growth that have shaped my journey so far.
As part of that incredible recognition, I got to attend ideas fest as a VIP and a took one of my friends a fellow business owner along with me. Ideas Fest is a festival often described as “Glastonbury for entrepreneurs” and I can honestly say, it was so fun and informative.
From the moment I arrived, I felt surrounded by energy, creativity, and the kind of people who get it. People building bold businesses, chasing big dreams, and generously sharing their knowledge. There were inspiring talks, real conversations, and a sense of community that reminded me just how powerful it is to step out of your comfort zone and into new spaces.
Here are a few of my biggest takeaways:
Big ideas start small – So many of the speakers reminded me that the most impactful businesses often start with a personal story or a single pain point. We don’t need it all figured out before we begin.
Conversations over credentials – One of the best parts wasn’t even the panels (though they were amazing), but the chats over coffee, around the campfire, or while queuing for lunch. So much magic happens in those spontaneous moments.
Rest is part of the process – Between yoga sessions, creative workshops, and time in nature, I was reminded that slowing down is often where new inspiration comes from. Ideas Fest is proof that business and wellness can co-exist.
You’re not doing this alone – Running a business can feel isolating, especially as a solo founder. But being surrounded by people who get it — the highs, the stress, the sleepless nights — was incredibly validating.
Whether you’re just starting out or scaling something big, Ideas Fest is a space to dream big, be honest, and reimagine what business could look like. I left feeling clearer, braver, and deeply inspired.
Would I go again? Absolutely.
Should you go next year? Without a doubt.
